Barcelona, I miss you already! A few friends and I went this past weekend for two nights. Our weekend was basically filled with relaxing on the beach and eating delicious food! We stayed at a hostel that was 10 euro a night and literally on the beach. What a steal! We made time to take a bus tour to see as many sights as we could in the city with limited time. I loved the architecture of Antonio Guadí. He's the modernist architect that designed La Sagrada Familia, Parc Güel, and several other buildings in Barcelona. We got to walk around and have dinner on Las Ramblas, a main street in Barcelona filled with shops, markets, and restaurants. I tried a few Barcelona craft beers in my travels--delicious. In Barcelona they speak Catalan Spanish, but I didn't really hear much of it because mostly everyone could speak to us in Castilian Spanish or English. My hostel roommates from Brazil spoke Portuguese, Spanish, English and German, so we got to speak to them in English and Spanish! We went to a bar called Chupitos, that had hundreds of shots and mixed drinks. They're famous for their fire shots. I didn't take one because I use way too much hairspray for that to be safe... If I had more time, I'd love to go back for a second round of Barcelona, although I did come back with a pretty mean sunburn!
